WELCOME TO OUR TOWN – SHAUNAVON
Thank you for your interest in our community and for taking the time to visit our website.
Shaunavon is a vibrant town of some 2,000 people who enjoy a quiet rural lifestyle, along with the benefits of a strong business and professional sector. We are rich in ideas, spirit and exuberance for healthy rural living.
We are proud of the fact that we are known as a designated regional centre for the southwest corner of the province of Saskatchewan. The amenities and services are second to none – from a strong education system to a high level of health care.
In 2010, Shaunavon will be launching the “Wickenheiser Centre”, a beautiful new community recreation facility that will house four sheets of curling ice and a skating/hockey arena. We are proud to be honoring Hayley Wickenheiser, our hometown hero and the world's greatest female hockey player. This is a project that the community has been committed to for a number of years and, most deservingly, await the day it will officially open. The facility will eventually house the Wickenheiser Museum which will become another tourist attraction for southwest Saskatchewan.
Our Town Office is located close to downtown, where you will find our staff most pleased to answer any questions you may have, whether you are considering establishing a business in our community, looking for a friendly place in which to live and wanting to know more about us.
Sincerely yours,
Sharon Dickie
