Communities In Bloom
Communities In Bloom is a Canadian beautification program that provides information and education awarding "Bloom Ratings" for floral displays, landscaping, urban forestry, turf, community involvement, heritage conservation, enviromental awareness and tidiness.
Shaunavon is so fortunate that previous generations put much thought, time, energy and imagination into what we see each day. Our wide treed streets and parks are a testament to that. We are hoping to continue that spirit and build pride and care of our community into future generations of citizens of Shaunavon.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN YEAR ONE!
Robertson Implements and Shaunavon Industries willingly supplied wooden shipping crates which were painted and turned into flower boxes. One of the boulevard corners were planted to flowers and fenced on three sides. A pole fence was built at an entrance to the Trans Canada Trail, as well as the main entrance to town. The town entrance was greatly enhanced with the addition of the fence and flower pots, together with the cleanup of the railway tracks by the town crew.
Shaunavon's Communities In Bloom Committee is beginning its second year and is looking forward to taking on new and exciting projects and having more people become involved throughout our community.
