Chamber of Commerce

The Shaunavon Chamber of Commerce is a group of business people and professionals who care about our community. Our goal is to work together to ensure that Shaunavon remains a vibrant, progressive community - a community that we are proud to call home and a good place to conduct business.

Lobbying:

"There is strength in numbers" - the Chamber speaks as a united voice representing small business when lobbying for issues that concern our community.

Information:

Members are kept up to date on Chamber events with our quarterly newsletter "Chamber Chat". Now available online. The Chamber also organizes informational meetings for relevant issues such as "School Board Amalgamations". Guest speakers are invited to most Chamber General Meetings.

Networking:

Opportunities to network with other business people and professionals flourish. The Chamber's annual Golf Tournament is organized for this purpose. As well, our General Meetings are set in a relaxed supper meeting format to allow time to share ideas and express concerns.

Community Promotion:

Programs such as the Chamber's Annual Citizen of the Year Award, Ag Appreciation Night, and the Parade of Lights have been designed to show our pride in Shaunavon and its people. This is our way to give back to our community and recognize the citizens of Shaunavon and area.

Shop Shaunavon Promotions:

Promotions are designed to encourage people to "Shop in Shaunavon"; Boomtown Days' Passport to Prizes; Shaunabucks; Jinglebucks, Millenium Megabucks and Mony Tree Mania are examples of past successful promotions. Preference is given to promotions that encourage participation from all businesses, not just retail.

Chamber Business Recognition Awards

The Chamber also publishes an annual Chamber Directory of Member Businesses, which is distributed to new residents through our "Welcome Wagon" program and to tourists and the public at various distribution points.
