Shaunavon and District Music Festival

The Shaunavon & District Music Festival has been operating since 1909. The festival is organized by many willing and enthusiastic volunteers, and is funded by numerous generous donations from area businesses and individuals. We strive to offer a positive and encouraging learning environment for our festival participants, and an enjoyable entertaining experience for our audience.

Participants can compete in piano, vocal, musical theatre, speech arts and choir classes, with other classes added as requested. The festival is held in early spring, with a final concert on the last evening. The final concert features a variety of musical selections chosen from the entries throughout the week, as well as scholarship and award presentations. Occasionally, the adjudicator/s from the week are able to join us at the final concert and offer a musical selection for our enjoyment. All sessions are open to the public and are usually held at Salem Lutheran Church and Centre Street United Church. Many positive comments have been received indicating an appreciation for the great quality of talent shown in the students and the teachers. At present, entry fees are $10.00 per solo/duet entry and $15.00 per group entry.
