Recreation Complex for the Whole Family

Shaunavon's Recreation Complex islocated at the north end of the community.  Along with the 2 baseball fields that will be used, the complex features facilities & activities for the whole family all in one site.  The complex includes slo-pitch/fastball fields, concession booth, 2 public washroom facilities, swimming pool , skateboard park, outdoor basketball court, tennis court, horseshoe pits, soccer/football field, running track, hockey rink & curling rink.  There is on site camping if the downtown campsite Shawnee Park is full.   The Recreation Complex is only 3 blocks from the heart of downtown Shaunavon.  Our town has 3 beautiful parks with creative playgrounds in all of them.  A section of the Trans Canada Trail runs just northwest of the Rec Complex and is used by walking, biking and blading enthusiasts.  Attractions on Centre St. include the Museum & Art Gallery as well as the Plaza Theatre which features great Hollywood movies nightly. We encourage you to visit our local retailers, restaurants and beverage establishments.   If you like to golf, you can't miss an opportunity to get in a round at Rock Creek Golf Course  just 4 kms west of town on Hwy 13.  If you have a little more time on your hands or plan to spend some of your holidays in the Southwest, there are several other attractions in the area such as Pine Cree Regional Park, T-Rex Discovery Centre, Lac Pelletier Regional Park, Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and Grasslands National Park.
