Lot Sale was a Great Success

The Shaunavon lot sale which was held at Gull Lake on Wednesday was a marked success from every standpoint. The sale passed off very quietly, and every purchaser was well satisfied. Three hundred and seventy business and residential lots were disposed of, and the C. P. R. representatives state that this sale exceeded any previous lot sale held by the company. The total returns amounted to $210,000 which is in excess of their expectations. The doors opened at 9 a.m. and closed at 5 p.m., during which time there was a steady flow of anxious purchasers, some of which took a position in the line a second time. They were entitled to two business and three residential lots, and a large number had been camping in the lineup for days, as the line first started to form two weeks ago. There was but very few speculators in the line, and many who stated that they were purchasing for investment are contemplating going into business, but are yet undecided as to what line to take up. At least two wholesale concerns had representatives on the ground which plainly shows that this point is destined to be a distributing point from the first. Including the business houses already on the ground that were not represented in the lineup sixty parties have purchased lots with the intention of going into business here in the course of the next sixty days. We publish the below synopsis of those who were in line on the morning of the 17th and publish what they stated were their intention at that time. In our next issue we will, as nearly as possible publish the location of the various businesses. The following list is incomplete, but is as nearly accurate as possible under the circumstances.
