On Tuesday May 28th and Wednesday May 29th Public Works will be doing routine hydrant flushing in Shaunavon. Shaunavon’s fire hydrants are connected to the potable drinking water system, where hydrant flushing is performed twice a year to remove any settled sediment, contributing to the Town of Shaunavon’s Water Quality Improvement Strategy.
The Town of Shaunavon will be having a grader come in to assist with snow removal on the evening of Monday February 20th. Grading will begin at midnight on the night of Feb. 20th, and trucks will remove the graded snow on Tuesday February 21st, and continue to clear the snow on February 23rd if necessary.
The locations that will be graded the night of Monday Feb 20th are the following:
1st Street West (from 3rd Ave to 7th Ave)
1st Street East (from 3rd Ave to 10th Ave)
2nd Street East (from 1st Ave to 10th Ave)

Vehicles MUST BE MOVED off these respective roadways PRIOR TO 8PM on the evening of Monday February 20th. Any vehicles not moved by this time will be TOWED at the owner’s expense.
This aggressive snow removal is important because removing built-up snow from our streets improves drainage and eases street maintenance come spring time because it clears storm drains and reduces the amount of runoff.
