Today, SaskTel announced it will soon launch SaskTel infiNETTM service in Shaunavon as part of its $200 million Rural Fibre Initiative.
Powered by SaskTel’s fibre optic broadband network, infiNET service delivers internet speeds reaching close to a Gigabit per second (Gbps), allowing subscribers to surf, stream, and share however much content they want at incredible speeds. Plus, the infiNET network has the capacity to grow to support the evolving needs of SaskTel’s customers and increasing popularity of cloud services, video streaming, and smart technologies.
SaskTel anticipates it will begin connecting homes to infiNET service in select areas of Shaunavon by the end of November.
“The Government of Saskatchewan recognizes how essential a fast and reliable internet connection is to the overall success of our people and province as a whole,” said Doug Steele, MLA for Cypress Hills. “I am pleased with SaskTel’s ongoing efforts to expand their advanced fibre broadband and 5G wireless networks across Saskatchewan ensuring more families and businesses can access and benefit from the opportunities the digital world has to offer.”
Over the coming weeks, SaskTel will provide information to Shaunavon residents on how and when they can schedule their upgrade to infiNET service.
