NOTICE - 2024 Budget Announcement

We’re so excited to announce our DRIVE-IN MOVIE on Thursday October 10th 2024!! Based on our voting poll, the movie that will be showing is THE GOONIES (1985): A group of young misfits called The Goonies discover an ancient map and set out on an adventure to find a legendary pirate’s long-lost treasure.

On Tuesday October 1st and Wednesday October 2nd Public Works will be doing routine hydrant flushing in Shaunavon. Since Shaunavon’s fire hydrants are connected to the potable drinking water system, Hydrant flushing is performed routinely twice a year to remove any settled sediment, contributing to the Town of Shaunavon’s Water Quality Improvement Strategy.

The Town of Shaunavon is thrilled to announce that the Shaunavon Trail, Walkway Lighting project has been selected to receive a financial contribution from Trans Canada Trail (TCT) through the Trail Funding Program! The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) grant from TCT has approved up to $36,350 to enhance our local section of Canada’s national trail.

SEPTEMBER 30 IS NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH & RECONCILIATION (Orange Shirt Day) The day honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.

Interim Mayor Travis Nelson signed a municipal proclamation declaring September 20 to October 13 as Culture Days | Fête de la culture in the Town of Shaunavon. Culture Days is a national celebration highlighting the importance of arts and culture in our communities. Shaunavon’s Culture Days Event Hub partners the Grand Coteau Heritage and Cultural Centre and Shaunavon Library have many Culture Days activities planned for you to enjoy!
