A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR & COUNCIL “With the recent adoption of the 2024 Budget, we are proud to announce the approval of an operating budget of $5,854,178 and $1,067,501 in capital expenditures, with a net property tax levy requirement of $2,213,683. Similar to the previous year, our National and Provincial cost of living continues to rise. This was taken into consideration where Council carefully deliberated the effective management of tax dollars. The reality is that there have been substantial increases to Town expenditures, including materials and construction costs, due to the continued increases to Carbon Tax. This also has a dramatic impact across our utilities such as SaskPower & Energy. The town’s budget allocates funds to numerous large initiatives such as infrastructure maintenance on local streets, sewers, water distribution system, sidewalks, parks and recreation grounds, and more. Seeing evidence of the investments providing positive results long-term, it is our goal to continue proactive approaches to invest in our infrastructure, parks and facilities to benefit cost efficiency in the future as well as improving the quality of life within our community. This aligns with our Strategic Plan 2023-2028.”
