90 volunteers. 1 community. Endless impact.

This year marked our 4th annual GoGreen event in Shaunavon, and what a powerful day it was! With around 90 volunteers, we came together to roll up our sleeves and bring new life to public spaces across our community — proving once again that Shaunavon shines when we work together.

Here’s just some of what we accomplished:

  • Revitalized the Grand Coteau Centre’s front lawn, made possible through support from the SPRA’s Parks for All Action Grant. Volunteers helped transplant perennials, refresh mulch and stone edging, and prepare the site for a spring planting of traditional Indigenous plants. Special thanks to Falon Kolbinson for providing education around these four ceremonial plants and their significance! Interpretive signage about the ceremonial plants will be installed in spring 2026 to further enrich the space.

  • Repainted the sign at Sunnynook Park & Stained the “Welcome to Shaunavon” flower bed.

  • Built tree berms around the ball diamond trees to support their growth.

  • And a huge thanks to school classrooms from Shaunavon Public School and Christ the King School who pulled weeds, picked garbage, raked leaves, and helped us finish the season strong!

Special thanks to our event partners:

  • Stark & Marsh – long-time GoGreen partners and co-hosts

  • Pioneer Co-op – for donating the paint

  • Canalta Hotel – for donating beverages

  • Meeting Grounds Coffee House – for keeping us fueled with coffee

  • Rose Jade Catering – for cooking the delicious BBQ lunch

  • Laura Nesland for the delicious cookies for snack runs

  • Communities in Bloom volunteers who brought their expertise and passion for beautification

  • And to the Southwest Chronic Disease Support Foundation, this year’s BBQ fundraiser recipient!

Whether you wielded a paintbrush, a shovel, a rake, a wheelbarrow, or transplanted perennials, weeded, picked garbage, or served lunch — your hands helped shape a more beautiful, welcoming Shaunavon.

We’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Thank you for showing up, pitching in, and keeping Shaunavon beautiful!

See you next year!
