SHAUNAVON SPOTLIGHT: "Saskatchewan road trip offers a taste of the Land of the Living Skies"

Shaunavon's own Harvest Eatery was selected as a stop on a Southern Saskatchewan Food Tour hosted by Tourism Saskatchewan. Now, a feature in the Victoria Times Colonist by Vancouver travel writer Juanita Ng is shining a light on our southwest corner in her article "Saskatchewan road trip offers a taste of the Land of the Living Skies".

Harvest Eatery, opened over a decade ago by chef-owner Rusty Thienes and his wife, was highlighted as a destination worth travelling for. Built with a vision for inspired, experiential dining in the heart of small-town Saskatchewan. What began as a bold idea, bringing fine cuisine to the prairie, has grown into a destination where gourmet comfort food, seasonal ingredients, and genuine connection come together.

There was also admiration for our community’s character, including a nod to the South West Mural Fest murals that that turn our streets into an open-air gallery and reflect the creativity rooted here. And just down the highway, Town of Eastend was featured as the gem it is, home to the T. rex Discovery Centre, proof that there's always more to discover in the prairies than meets the eye.

We’re proud of the people here, the ones with the spirit and grit who make our communities so special!
