FREE GARBAGE TRANSFER WEEKEND is THIS WEEKEND MAY 22, 23 & 24!

It’s time to tackle that spring clean-up and clear out unwanted items around your home and yard! Help us keep Shaunavon clean, safe, and looking its best!

  • Dates: May 22, 23 & 24, 2026

  • Time: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Location: 6th Ave East in the open field near the Compost Pile (east of the Shaunavon Hospital)

  • See map below for Entry & Exit and Transfer sites:

Accepted at the Town’s Garbage Transfer Weekend:

  • Household Garbage

  • Metal

  • Mattresses

  • White Goods (appliances)

  • Branches

  • Items with Freon (fridges, freezers, air conditioners, etc.) – designated Helix Ltd. bin available

Please Note:

  • No Tires

  • No Batteries

  • No Electronics

  • Shaunavon residents only

Please follow staff directions and instructions. Respectful behaviour toward staff is expected at all times.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection – Friday, May 22 Only: Product Care Recycling will be on site from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the same location as last year to collect Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) at no cost.

Examples of accepted HHW may include:

  • Flammable liquids

  • Toxic liquids

  • Pesticides

  • Corrosives

  • Aerosols

  • Physically hazardous materials (accepted restrictions apply)

Basic HHW Restrictions:

* Household waste only (no industrial/agricultural waste)

* Must be in original, sealed, leak-proof containers with labels

Not accepted through HHW:

  • Motor oil

  • Antifreeze

  • Ammunition

  • Batteries

  • Diesel

  • Fertilizer

  • Medical sharps

  • Light tubes/CFL bulbs

  • Paint

  • Electronics

  • Household batteries

  • Beverage containers

  • Household glass

  • Foam packaging

  • Flexible packaging

Cypress Hills Ability Centre:

  • Eco-Centre (used oil, containers & filters)

  • Computer Recycling

  • Paper Shredding (please phone ahead to arrange drop-off: 306-297-2776)
