A gate valve is being replaced on 9th St W on Sunday July 26th. Water services for properties in the affected area (500 and 600 blocks of 9th St W including Frosty Treat) will be disrupted for PART OF THE DAY of July 26 while the gate valve replacement is underway.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- A Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory will be issued by the Water Security Agency in the affected purple area (9th St W) from the time of the valve replacement until water tests are deemed as safe for consumption (APPROXIMATELY 1 week after the replacement date).
All affected users will be notified of the advisory in place on Voyent Alert!, social media on the Town's website and with a paper copy. Affected users will be updated when the Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory for their area has been lifted.
Instructions:
From the time that the Advisory is issued until the Advisory is lifted, please follow these guidelines outlined by the Water Security Agency:
- Boil all water for at least 1 minute at a rolling boil before using it for:
Drinking, Brushing teeth, Washing fruits/vegetables, Making ice, Preparing food or drinks that won’t be boiled
• Do not use tap water for washing dishes unless boiled or sanitized in bleach water (2 tbsp/gallon or 10 ml/L for 2 minutes). Do not mix bleach with soap or detergent.
• Avoid drinking from public water fountains.
• Sponge bathe young children and infants.
• Use bottled or safe alternate water if you do not want to boil tap water.
• Avoid using tap water on open cuts, rashes, or if advised by your doctor.
This advisory is in place until testing confirms the water is safe. Affected residents will be notified when it is lifted.
