Mission & Role in Our Community
Founded in 1989 through the merger of two local support organizations, CHACI has grown into a key nonprofit provider in Shaunavon and surrounding areas. Its primary aim is “to provide support and services for individuals with disabilities to develop as participatory citizens.”
CHACI offers a broad spectrum of programs—from sheltered workshops and vocational day-programs to residential group homes and independent living support. Through these services, they empower individuals with diverse abilities, promote inclusion, and contribute to our local social and economic fabric.
Recycling & Eco-Centre Services
In addition to their core supports, CHACI runs a dedicated recycling and eco-centre program that addresses community and environmental needs. Among their services are:
Confidential paper shredding : Residents, businesses, and organizations can securely dispose of sensitive documents.
Computer & electronics recycling : CHACI accepts outdated machines and electronics for responsible recycling, helping divert e-waste from landfill.
Eco-centre for various recyclable materials : They provide a drop-off point and processing facility for a variety of recyclables, supporting local sustainability efforts.
