Description

QUALIFICATIONS

a) Minimum current Bronze Cross, First-Aid certificate, CPR C certificate. * Contact recreation.shaunavon@sasktel.net if you have questions or are needing to take your Bronze Cross & NL courses.

b) Capable of working as a team in providing a safe, enjoyable, aquatic environment
c) If 16 years of age: required to have completed their National Lifeguard Certification
d) Ability to take direction from supervisors.
e) Capable of exercising leadership qualities.
f) Strong Customer Service skills
g) Strong work ethic

DUTIES

  1. Prevent accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulations and ordinances governing the conduct of persons using the swimming pool.

  2. Be on a constant look out for accidents occurring in, on or around the water.

  3. Report definite or potential physical hazards, unsafe conditions or equipment problems to the Pool Manager.

  4. Be prepared to enter the water to rescue person(s) in trouble, resuscitate swimmers in need, administer first-aid and follow emergency procedures.

  5. Be familiar with pool emergency and rescue procedures.

  6. Become familiar with pool operations and safety including chemicals, equipment operation, manuals, etc.

  7. Complete accident reports, time sheets, cash reports or other administrative functions as requested by the Pool Manager or Wellness & Leisure Director.

  8. Be professional, friendly, helpful and cheerful to all pool patrons and fellow employees in the performance of his/her duties.

  9. Maintain a clean facility at all times.

  10. Call Pool Manager if assistance is maintaining discipline of swimmers is needed.

  11. Complete lessons plans and other presentations needed to instruct assigned classes.

  12. Assist in the planning and carrying through of instruction or special events when requested by the Pool Manager or the Wellness & Leisure Director.

  13. Maintain an acceptable appearance at all times as to both uniform and personal hygiene.

  14. Be prepared to assist the Director or Manager in any phase of pool operation not outlined above.
