2026 Assessment Notice

NOTICE: Town of Shaunavon Notice is hereby given that the Assessment Roll for the Town of Shaunavon for the year 2026 has been prepared and is open to inspection in the office of the Assessor from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., Monday to Friday, February 9, 2026 to March 10, 2026. A bylaw pursuant to section 214 of The Municipalities Act has been passed and the assessment notices have been sent as required. All fees must be submitted to the local assessor at the Town of Shaunavon. All Appeals must be filed with the Secretary of the Board of Revision, Nicolle Hoskins. Appeals may be sent electronically to: secretary@westernmunicipal.ca or via mail to Town of Shaunavon, Box 820, Shaunavon, SK S0N 2M0, and will be forwarded to the Secretary of the Board of Revision.

Any person wishing to discuss the Notice of Assessment or potential appeal may contact the Assessor at the Town of Shaunavon, Box 820, Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, S0N 2M0. A notice of appeal, accompanied by a $500.00 Appeal fee, which will be returned if the appeal is successful, must be submitted by the 10th day of March, 2026.

Did you know that we begin accepting payments for property taxes in January for the current year?

In fact, taxes paid in January and February will receive a 5% discount.

Tax Incentive and Penalties Bylaw 2020-11

Typically the Incentive and Penalty structure have been as follows:

Property and other taxes imposed by the Town of Shaunavon are deemed to be imposed on the first day of January in each year and shall be due on August 31st.

The Discount schedule is:
January and February – 5%
March and April – 4%
May and June – 3%
July - 2%
August – 1%

The Penalty schedule is:
September 1st – 1.5 % of the unpaid amount
October 1st – 1.5% of the unpaid amount
November 1st – 1.5% of the unpaid amount
December 1st – 1.5% of the unpaid amount.

Payment Options
  1. MAIL - Cheques or cash can be mailed to: Town of Shaunavon Box 820 Shaunavon, SK, S0N 2M0 Receipts will be issued by mail.

  2. Online Banking: Both tax and utility payments can be made through online banking.
    Add “Town of Shaunavon” as a bill payee and enter your utility account number or roll number.
    Please allow 3–5 business days for processing. Receipts will be issued by mail.

  3. E-Transfer Send e-transfers to: shaunavon@sasktel.net UNTIL July 1st, 2026
    Starting July 2, 2026, all e-transfers must be sent to: assistant.admin@shaunavon.com.
    After July 1, shaunavon@sasktel.net will no longer accept payments.
    Include a memo/description indicating the reason for the e-transfer and your utility account number or roll number if making a tax or utility payment (e.g., “Utilities – Account No. ___”). E-transfers are auto-deposit. Receipts will be issued by mail

  4. In Person Visit the Town Office at 401 - 3rd Street W. during office hours (Mon.-Fri. 8am-4pm). Debit, cash, and cheque are accepted. Please note: We do not accept credit cards
