Things are moving fast and the schedule for Fly, Ride & Drive is officially set! We’re celebrating all things transportation in Shaunavon, and we want to see you there.

Join us for the Legion’s Centennial Celebration on Saturday September 19 Hosted by the Shaunavon Legion Branch #40 @ the Shaunavon Legion 157 1st Avenue!

Featured will be the Awards for the Transportation Show, Supper, Silent Auction & Cabaret!!

Awards & Supper: from 6 PM - 8 PM

• Supper tickets: $25 +GST per person
• Both Supper & Cabaret (19+): $40 +GST per person

CABARET: from 8 PM - 2 AM 19+ Event Cabaret featuring Ken carson & Group

• Cabaret Cover: $20 per person in advance,
• $25 at the door. Cover includes midnight lunch

STEPS:

• Register your account (If you have used Univerus for W&L Rec Programming, there’s no need to make a new account! Just sign in on your account!): follow the steps of registration - fill out your personal information, (as an adult, fill out the Parent / Guardian section with your own name or hit N/A).
• Confirm activation of your account with your email.
• Once activated, Login with your new account info.
• Select “View Available Courses”
• Select “Fly Ride Drive” under “Economic Development & Innovation”
• Select which ticket you’d like to purchase: Supper Only, Cabaret Only, OR Supper & Cabaret Bundle.
• Click “Register Now”, it will add it to your enrollment cart.
• Fill in any dietary restrictions - if none, please fill out “NONE” in the box provided.
• Hit “Process Payment” and fill in your credit card information. Click “Process Payment” on the bottom right, you will receive a confirmation that your enrollment (aka Ticket) is confirmed on the page AND in your email.

NO REFUNDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THIS EVENT

We are thrilled to open our doors and invite the entire community to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Shaunavon Court House on September 18th as a way to kick off the excitement for Fly Ride and Drive to Shaunavon!

Construction began in 1926 for this beautiful building, this landmark building was designed by Provincial Architect Maurice Sharon in a grand Colonial Revival style - built with local pride using iconic face brick from Saskatchewan’s famous Claybank Brick Plant. From holding trials to serving as our current Town Hall, this building has a century of stories to tell, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

WHAT’S HAPPENING ON FRIDAY

• Guided Tours (11:00 AM & 1:00 PM): Meet Town staff and local officials, explore behind the scenes, and discover secrets from 100 years of local history!
• Mock Trial (2nd Floor Courtroom): Watch history come alive on stage! Written by Anderson & Co., featuring costumes and actors from Darkhorse Theatre and local youth. 2:00 PM: Student (& families!) Show 3:00 PM: General Public Show
• Jail Cell Photo Booth: Step inside the historic lower-level iron jail cells for a photo-op! We’ll have fun 1920s props ready for your picture-perfect moment.
• Cupcakes & Refreshments (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Enjoy free sweet treats and drinks while browsing historic displays. THEMED DRESS-UP ENCOURAGED! Feel like stepping back into the Roaring ’20s? 1920s period dress is encouraged, but strictly optional, come as you are and enjoy the fun! Bring your family & your neighbours. Let’s celebrate 100 years of this iconic structure!! See you at the Court House!

Get ready to rev your engines, spin your wheels, and take flight! Saturday, September 19 is our centerpiece showcase for Fly, Ride & Drive, and we’re bringing together everything on wings, wheels, and tracks right here in Shaunavon!

Got a vehicle or aircraft you want to show off? Whether it flies, rolls, or cruises, register your airplane, automobile, motorcycle, or bicycle to be part of the big show!

(Registration fee is by donation on the day of the event! Bicycle Loonie ride is just that - $1 donated to KidSport).

SATURDAY SHOWCASE SCHEDULE

12:30 PM – 3:30 PM | Community BBQ Fundraiser - Location: Shaunavon Airport

• Fuel up your tanks (stomachs!) at the Shaunavon Airport! BBQ Hosted by the Excellerators Car Club 1:00 PM | Opening Speeches
• Official kickoff at the Shaunavon Airport.

1:00 PM – 5:00 PM | The Main Transportation Show - Location: Shaunavon Airport

• Walk the tarmac to see airplanes, automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles up close! Hosted by the Airport Committee, Excellerators Car Club, Regional EMO, and Boomtown Family.

1:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Model Train Show & Train Safety - Location: Christ the King Hall

• Explore the rail side of transportation with model displays and safety exhibits hosted by Speedy Creek Model Railroad Club & Great Western Railway!

KEEP THE MOTOR RUNNING INTO THE NIGHT!

After the show, join us at the Shaunavon Legion Centennial for Supper & Awards at 6:00 PM, followed by the Cabaret featuring Ken Carson & Group! (Note: Supper tickets must be pre-purchased in advance at https://app.univerusrec.com/shaunavonrecpub/account/index.asp).

From runway to rail to road, see you there!

Kids & families: Decorate your wheels and meet us at a pick up location along the route & we’ll pick you up! Pickup Locations: Elk’s Hall, Town Office, Shaunavon High School & Christ the King School

AT THE FINISH LINE: Register for a Loonie & Line up your decorated bike at the airport for a chance to win prizes! (money raised will go to Kidsport to help all kids get in a sport this season!) Enjoy transportation shows & a community fundraiser BBQ at the airport!
