SHAWNEE CAMPGROUND CHRISTMAS Wellness & Leisure invites Businesses and Groups to decorate a site at the Shawnee campground to spread holiday cheer! $20 per site Sites 1st come 1st serve (limited sites available!) Users must install a timer for the lights. Lights will be on display 5-10pm every night Dec 1st - 30th Decoration installation may begin upon registration and must be ready for Boomtown Christmas Dec. 6th. The lights will be turned off on Dec. 30th and the displays must be removed by January 16th. REGISTER HERE

TWINKLE TOUR Register your decorated house/yard to be part of this year’s TWINKLE TOUR to spread holiday cheer! You could WIN one of the following titles:

• A Disney Delight

Wellness & Leisure is presently looking for sponsors for General Skate & Shinny for the 2025-26 season at the Veren Wickenheiser Centre. With the support of the community, we hope to offer all general skating and shinny free of charge throughout the entire season. This will promote and encourage local residents to use the facility for recreational or fitness purposes!

Recognition at the CPWC will be given to all sponsors along with an income tax receipt. Disc rentals for the Shaunavon disc golf course will be available to sign out at the Town Office for a deposit of $40 per set, which will be returned once all discs are returned in good-condition. Discs are available for rent over 3 days. If discs are not returned within three days, the deposit will not be refunded. (Disc sets may also be purchased for $40 each!)

The Town of Shaunavon has the following Lawn Games available for rent:

• Ladder Ball

• Giant Jenga
• Bocce Ball

• Lawn Darts

All lawn games are available for rent at the VWC by contacting the Wellness & Leisure Office at (306) 297-3029. Rentals require a $50 deposit per game. Games can be kept for a max of three days and deposits will be refunded when the games are returned in good condition.

Rent some Disc Golf sets and play a round on our 9-hole Disc Golf Course that follows the Benchview TransCanada Trail and Avondale Park. Disc golf set rentals and purchases are available at the Town Office - $40 deposit for a rental, and $40 to purchase. Sets can be kept for a max of three days and deposits will be refunded when the sets are returned in good condition.

KidSport helps children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in sport, so that no kid is left on the sidelines. Click here to access the Individual Application Form

Who is eligible to receive a KidSport grant? • Families that are low-income and facing financial barriers.
• Grants are for children and youth 5 to 18 years of age.
• Amateur sport programs.
What does KidSport cover?
• Sport registration fee
• Children could be eligible for up to, but not guaranteed financial support of $750.00 per child per calendar year (Jan-Dec).
KidSport Guidelines
• Applications must be filled out completely and appropriate documentation submitted.
• Applications must be submitted before the start date of the sport activity.
• KidSport does not fund team fees, camps, travel, tournaments, championships, high performance, sports field trips, specialized training, fitness memberships, swim passes, dance, etc.
