S.P.A.R.K (Summer Programs for Arts and Recreation for Kids) is BACK this summer!

This summer program is for children ages 5-8 and will feature a variety of fun crafts and activities. Early bird registration is now open from June 10 to 26, so make sure to register soon to secure your child’s spot! This program is brought to you by Shaunavon Wellness & Leisure Summer Active and the Grand Coteau Heritage and Cultural Centre .

Any patrons of Shaunavon and area in need of assistance to purchase a pass for the 2024 pool season, please download and complete an application form. The funds will be distributed on a first come first serve basis until they are gone.

Here it is, folks… The most AMAZING final ME TIME activity before we take a break for the summer! THE AMAZING RACE - ME TIME EDITION
This Thursday, June 20 at the Grand Coteau Centre
Doors Open @ 6:30 pm - Race Starts @ 7:00 pm
Register on your own or as a team to compete against your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbours and complete the amazing (and fun!) challenges that take place throughout the Grand Coteau Heritage and Cultural Centre Museum, Gallery, and Shaunavon Library!!

DISC GOLF

DISC GOLF

Disc rentals for the Shaunavon disc golf course will be available to sign out at the Town Office for a deposit of $40 per set, which will be returned once all discs are returned in good-condition. Discs are available for rent over 3 days. If discs are not returned within three days, the deposit will not be refunded. (Disc sets may also be purchased for $40 each!)

OBJECT OF DISC GOLF

  • To play each hole in the fewest throws possible.
  • The player with the fewest total throws for the course wins!

KidSport Application Form

KidSport helps children of families facing financial obstacles to participate in sport, so that no kid is left on the sidelines. Click here to access the Individual Application Form

Who is eligible to receive a KidSport grant? • Families that are low-income and facing financial barriers.
• Grants are for children and youth 5 to 18 years of age.
• Amateur sport programs.
What does KidSport cover?
• Sport registration fee
• Children could be eligible for up to, but not guaranteed financial support of $750.00 per child per calendar year (Jan-Dec).
KidSport Guidelines
• Applications must be filled out completely and appropriate documentation submitted.
• Applications must be submitted before the start date of the sport activity.
• KidSport does not fund team fees, camps, travel, tournaments, championships, high performance, sports field trips, specialized training, fitness memberships, swim passes, dance, etc.
• For a list of eligible sports, please visit: www.kidsportcanada.ca/saskatchewan
• Generally accepted sport activities are those recognized and/or sanctioned by the member organizations of Sask Sport.

SaskLotteries Community Grant Program

SaskLotteries Community Grant Program 2024 Application - DUE APRIL 19, 2024

  • Submit your application to the Wellness and Leisure Committee at recreation.shaunavon@sasktel.net with a financial statement from your organization from your most current yearend.
  • Applicants must fully and legibly complete the application form. Complete the project description and other required information on the application form.
  • Local organizations are notified regarding the status of their application.
  • Applicants proceeding with programs: Saskatchewan Lotteries must be acknowledged in advertising & programming (Call the Rec. Office for FREE promotional materials).
  • Applicants must consult with the Recreation Office if a change of project is necessary. Only expenses approved in the initial application are eligible.
  • Applicants must complete project follow-up reports, attach receipts to verify their expenditures and attach a sample of how SK Lotteries was acknowledged. Grant cheques will be issued to the organization by the Wellness & Leisure Committee, once the follow-up report and supporting documents have been submitted. 2024 follow-ups must be submitted by April 30th, 2025.

LAWN GAME &DISC GOLF RENTALS LAWN GAME &DISC GOLF RENTALS

The Town of Shaunavon has the following Lawn Games available for rent:

  • Ladder Golf (currently out of order)
  • Spike Ball
  • Yardzee
  • Giant Jenga
  • Bocce Ball
  • Kan Jam
  • Lawn Darts

All lawn games are available for rent at the CPWC by contacting the Wellness & Leisure Office at (306) 297-3029. Rentals require a $50 deposit per game. Games can be kept for a max of three days and deposits will be refunded when the games are returned in good condition.

Rent some Disc Golf sets and play a round on our 9-hole Disc Golf Course that follows the Benchview TransCanada Trail and Avondale Park. Disc golf set rentals and purchases are available at the Town Office - $40 deposit for a rental, and $40 to purchase. Sets can be kept for a max of three days and deposits will be refunded when the sets are returned in good condition.
